Letter From The Editor
Jason Matthew
As this first month of The Jason Journal comes to a close, I wanted to take a moment to look back on everything that’s been shared so far. When I first started this magazine, I didn’t plan on having strict themes or rules. I just wanted a space where I could write freely about the things that move me, the art that stays with me, and the small parts of life that deserve a closer look.
This issue brings together a mix of all that. I revisited 500 Days of Summer, a film that made me appreciate how storytelling can reshape the way we feel about love and memory. I also wrote about Materialists, a new movie that had me thinking about the kind of chemistry that can only happen when the right people come together to bring a film to life.
Music always finds its way into my writing, so I shared a few tracks that linger long after they end. And finally, I opened up a little more about who I am in The Person Behind The Journal, because I think connection starts with honesty.
There’s no single theme tying these pieces together, but that’s what I like about this project—it’s unpredictable. Some weeks might be about film, others about music or personal stories. What matters to me is that each piece feels genuine.
Thanks for reading and being part of the start of something I hope continues to grow, change, and connect people along the way.
